Code Interpreter Overview

The Code Interpreter is a feature that enables AI models to write and execute code in real-time during conversations, allowing them to perform calculations, analyze data, create visualizations, and process files directly, rather than just providing theoretical explanations.

For multifamily applications, the AI can run financial models, analyze property performance data from spreadsheets, create charts showing market trends, or calculate complex metrics like IRR and NPV, rather than just explaining how to perform these calculations.

Code Interpreter Settings

Select "Active" Code Interpreter

The AI automatically runs code when it determines calculations or data analysis would be helpful, without asking permission first. Select this when you want seamless, efficient interactions where the AI proactively performs calculations, analyzes spreadsheets, or creates visualizations as needed.

Select "Passive" Code Interpreter

The AI asks for your permission before executing any code. Select this when you want more control over the process, need to review what the AI plans to do before it runs, or are working with sensitive data where you want to approve each computational step.

For multifamily work, you’d typically choose Active for routine tasks, such as financial modeling and market analysis, where you require quick results, and Passive when working with confidential property data or complex deal structures, where you want to oversee each analytical step.

File Search Overview

File Search allows the AI to access and search through uploaded documents, spreadsheets, and files to find relevant information and provide contextual responses based on your specific data.

For multifamily operations, this enables the AI to reference property management reports, lease agreements, market studies, financial statements, and operational documents to provide tailored advice and analysis.

Select "Active" File Search

The AI automatically searches through uploaded files when it determines relevant information might be available, providing comprehensive responses that incorporate your specific data without prompting.

Select "Passive" File Search

The AI asks before searching through your files. Choose this when you want control over which documents are accessed, need to maintain strict data privacy protocols, or want to specify exactly which files should be referenced for each query.
